GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Jenison girls basketball team earned a 51-47 victory over Grand Haven on Tuesday night in OK Red play. The Wildcats improve to 6-11 overall on the season.
Jenison led 15-12 at the end of the first quarter and 28-23 at the half. The Wildcats continued to maintain a short lead in the second half. The Wildcats closed the game out by knocking down 6 of 8 attempts from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter.
Terin Maynard led the team with 19 points, while Ella Haik also finished in double-figures with 14 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
The Jenison boys basketball team fell, 51-38, against Grand Haven on Tuesday night at home. The Wildcats drop to 5-11 overall.
After trailing 12-7 entering the second quarter, Jenison would take a lead into the half at 23-19. The Wildcats led for a majority of the third quarter before Grand Haven tied the game at 31-31 in the closing seconds of the frame. The Bucs would retake the lead early in the fourth and push their lead to double-digits.
The 15th annual Pink Out game will be played on Friday night at Kamstra Gymnasium against West Ottawa.
