BOYS BASKETBALL
The Jenison boys basketball team snapped a four-game skid in a 58-46 win over West Ottawa on Friday night. The Wildcats improve to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in OK Red play.
West Ottawa led for the first three quarters and entered the final frame up 39-33. The Jenison defense held the Panthers to just seven fourth quarter points and forced several turnovers.
Chris VanSlambrouck scored a team-high 14 points, while Corbin Bennetts (13 points), Trevor Martens (11 points), and Charlie Norton (10 points) each finished in double-figures.
Jenison will host Rockford on Tuesday.
HOCKEY
The Jenison hockey team defeated East Grand Rapids, 4-3, on Friday night. The Wildcats avenge a 6-1 loss earlier in the season to the Pioneers.
Jenison led 2-1 after the first period, but trailed 3-2 entering the final frame. The come from behind victory moves the Wildcats to 6-7 overall on the season.
Hayden Blik scored two goals, while Jack Bydalek and Andrew Kimble finished with a goal each.
Jenison will host Mona Shores tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Jenison girls basketball team fell, 52-36, at West Ottawa on Friday night in an OK Red showdown. The Wildcats drop to 3-7 overall and 0-3 in league play.
West Ottawa led 15-5 after the first quarter and 28-15 at the half before holding a double-digit lead for much of the second half.
Rudy Maynard scored 11 points, while Ella Haik added 10 points.
Jenison will travel to Rockford on Tuesday.
