The Jenison hockey team dropped a pair of contests over the weekend, falling 6-1 to East Grand Rapids on Friday night and 3-0 against No. 4 ranked Mona Shores on Saturday. Girls Basketball opened up their season against Grand Rapids Christian at home on Saturday, but fell 65-43.
HOCKEY
Hayden Blik scored the lone goal for Jenison in the Friday night loss to EGR. The Wildcats outshot the Pioneers, 24-22. On Saturday, Jenison played tough against state-power Mona Shores, but could not find the back of the net and dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The team will be back in action on Wednesday against Forest Hills Northern-Eastern
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Girls Basketball played the Eagles tight in the first half, but a late second half surge put the game out of reach in the opener.
Jenison trailed 15-13 at the end of the first and 26-24 at the half before GRC outscored the Wildcats 22-4 in the fourth quarter.
Terin Maynard scored a team-high 18 points.
The Wildcats will look to bounce back at Byron Center on Tuesday.
