Jenison Baseball drops series finale at Grand Haven

The Jenison baseball team fell to Grand Haven, 3-2, in the series finale on Thursday at home. The Wildcats drop to 8-8 overall and 6-6 in OK Red play.


Jenison scored in the second inning on an RBI single by RJ Rathsack, but both team were scoreless the next three innings.


Grand Haven took advantage of a Jenison error and scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead. Jenison would score one run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI groundout by Case Bosch.


In the bottom of the seventh, the Wildcats worked runners to first and second, but could not complete the comeback.


Jackson Sytsma was tagged with loss despite throwing six innings while not allowing an earned run.


Jenison will host Allendale in a doubleheader on Saturday.
