The Jenison baseball team swept Grandville by scores of 13-1 and 8-2 on Tuesday in the conference opener. The Wildcats improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
In game one, Jackson Sytsma earned the win on the mound by tossing five innings, while allowing just one run, four hits, and struck out three.
Corbin Bennetts and Landon Mueller each had two hits, while Sytsma, Mueller, and Diekman drove in two runs each.
Madison Wood was credited with the victory in game two, throwing five innings, while allowing one earned run and struck out five. Josh Huene pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Jaxen Bagley led the team with three hits, while Bennetts and Spencer Betts each had a pair of hits. Jenison stole 10 bases as a team including three each by Bagley and Bennetts.
The Wildcats will look for the series sweep of the Bulldogs on Thursday at home.
