Jenison Baseball sweeps West Ottawa on Tuesday

The Jenison baseball team swept West Ottawa by scores of 17-2 and 15-2 on Tuesday in an OK Red doubleheader. The Wildcats improve to 3-0 on the season.


GAME 1


Corbin Bennetts finished 5-for-5 with four runs and four RBI to lead the offense, while Joey Heyboer tallied three hits. Hayden Winger launched a home run and drove in five runs and Colin Diekman and Landon Mueller each had two hits.


Jackson Sytsma earned the win on the mound, tossing all five innings and striking out six.


GAME 2


Jackson Sytsma clubbed a grand slam and drove in six runs to pace the offensive attack. Bennetts and Winger scored three runs a piece, while nine different players recorded a hit.


Ben Slagter threw all five innings, allowing two unearned runs and striking out eight.


Jenison will host West Ottawa on Thursday for the final game of the series.
