Jenison Boys Basketball beats Cedar Springs on Tuesday

The Jenison boys basketball team defeated Cedar Springs, 64-57, on Tuesday night at the Kamstra Gymnasium. The Wildcats improve their record to 2-1 on the season.

Carter VanManen scored 24 points (16 in the 4th quarter) to lead Jenison, while sophomore Gage Chatfield also finished in double-figures with 11 points.

The Wildcats led 18-14 at the end of the first quarter and 37-27 at the half. Cedar Springs would cut into the deficit in the third and fourth quarters, but never took the lead.

The Red Hawks trailed by just four points late in the fourth quarter before VanManen sealed the game at the charity stripe. The senior guard knocked down 13 of 16 free throw attempts in the final frame.
