The Jenison boys basketball team fell to Grandville, 56-47, on Wednesday night in a MHSAA district semifinal matchup. The Wildcats end their season with a record of 7-15.
After a high scoring first quarter, Grandville took a 20-16 lead into a defensive led second quarter. Jenison outscored the Bulldogs, 11-8, in the second frame, but trailed 28-27 at the half.
The Grandville defense held Jenison without a field goal until the final minute of the third quarter and built a 39-31 lead entering the fourth quarter. Jenison would cut the deficit to four points at 44-40, before Grandville made a pair of key baskets and knocked down shots at the charity stripe to widen the margin.
Cam Duval led Jenison with 14 points, while Caleb Dean added 11 points.
