The Jenison boys basketball team dropped a non-league contest, 57-49, at Hamilton on Wednesday night. The Wildcats fall to 3-4 overall.
Jenison jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter, holding Hamilton without a point until late in the frame. The Hawkeyes would cut into the deficit and Jenison would take a 28-22 lead into the halftime break. After a closely contested third quarter, Hamilton secured the lead in the final quarter and hung on for the victory.
Chris VanSlambrouck scored a team-high 14 points, while Corbin Bennetts added 11 points.
Jenison will host East Kentwood (3-0) on Friday night in the OK Red opener.
