The Jenison football team defeated Grand Haven, 31-6, on Friday night in the Homecoming Game at David McKenzie Stadium. The Wildcats improve to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Jenison scored on the opening possession after a long kick return from Leo VandenToorn. Riley Russo found the end zone from 36 yards out to give Jenison a 7-0 lead early.
The Jenison defense forced a turnover on downs near the goal line late in the second quarter which sparked a 96 yard scoring drive on the ensuing possession. Deseante Riley scampered 84 yards and Zaiden Chirco scored on a 10-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 14-0 lead heading into halftime.
Sam Morales and Riley each scored touchdowns in the second half and Owen Snyder connected on a 42-yard field goal.
Jenison will travel to Hudsonville next Friday night to take on the Eagles.
