The Jenison football team fell at Grandville by a score of 49-8 on Friday night. The Wildcats drop to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in league play, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Grandville opened up the scoring on the first drive of the game and led 8-0 with 9:51 left in the first quarter. Jenison would hold the Bulldogs scoreless the rest of the quarter, but Grandville found the end zone four times in the second quarter and led 35-0 at halftime.
Carter VanManen connected with Jackson Sytsma for a 35-yard touchdown at the end of the third quarter.
Riley Russo led the Jenison offense with 67 yards rushing on 10 carries, while Ethan Mate had a team-high eight tackles on defense.
Jenison will return home to David McKenzie Stadium next Friday night as they host Rockford (5-0) at 7:00 PM.
