Jenison Football Drops Season Opener vs. Forest Hills Central

The Jenison football team fell to Forest Hills Central, 29-14, on Thursday night at David McKenzie Stadium in the 2021 opener.


Forest Hills Central scored a touchdown on their first drive of the game to go up 6-0 and would add another score early in the second quarter. The Rangers led 16-0 at the half.


FHC scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter and built their lead to 29-0 before Jenison's Caleb Dean found the endzone from 29 yards out early in the fourth quarter to get the Wildcats on the board.


Rowan Stewart added a defensive touchdown for Jenison with 3:14 left in the fourth quarter as he ripped the ball away from the QB and ran 53 yards for the score.


Dean finished the night with 16 carries and 110 yards to lead the Jenison offense, while Ethan Mate had a team-high 10 tackles on defense.


The Wildcats (0-1) will be back in action next Thursday (Sep. 2) at Forest Hills Northern.
