The Jenison girls basketball team defeated Grand Haven, 40-31, on Friday night in the regular season finale. The Wildcats avenged a 38-28 loss on Jan. 28.
Grand Haven held a 9-7 lead after the first quarter and a 16-14 advantage at the half. Jenison came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Bucs 15-7 in the third quarter before building a larger lead in the fourth quarter.
Terin Maynard led the Wildcats with 23 points, while Sam Timmer added eight points.
Jenison will open up district play on Monday (Feb. 28) at West Ottawa. The Wildcats and Panthers split the season series.
