The Jenison girls basketball team defeated West Ottawa, 48-40, on Friday night in the annual Pink Out game at Kamstra Gymnasium. The Wildcats improve to 8-8 overall and 5-5 in OK Red play.
Both teams started slow offensively as Jenison led 7-6 after one quarter of play and 18-12 at the half. The Wildcats would continue to hold the lead in the second half and pulled away late to secure the victory and move their record back to .500.
Taryn Maynard led with 15 points, while Ella Haik (12 points) and Christine Duch (11 points) also finished in double-figures.
Jenison will travel to East Kentwood on Tuesday (Feb. 15).
