The Jenison girls basketball team fell to West Ottawa, 44-33, in the district opener on Monday night at West Ottawa High School. The Wildcats finished the 2021-22 season with a 9-12 record.
Jenison jumped out to a 8-1 lead and held a 10-7 advantage after the first quarter before West Ottawa gained the lead midway through the second quarter. The Panthers led 17-14 at the half and continued to grow the lead in the second half, leading 27-18 heading into the final quarter.
Seniors Christine Duch, Sam Timmer, Elsie Norton, Mia Brown, and Taya Jenison played in their final basketball game for Jenison.
