Jenison Girls Swim & Dive Finish 2nd at State Meet

The Jenison Girls Swim and Dive team finished in 2nd place at the Division 2 State Meet on Saturday. This marks the highest finish in program history. The Wildcats earned nine all-state honors, six all-american times, five individual state champions, two varsity records, two pool records, and one division 2 state meet record.



200 Medley: 1st place: Grace Albrecht, Sophia Umstead, Emma Albrecht and Layla Umstead.

- Automatic All American

200 IM; 1st place: Sophia Umstead.

- All State.

- New pool record

- Automatic All American

50 Free: 1st place: Grace Albrecht, 2nd place. Emma Albrecht.

- Both earn All State honors, while Grace's time earned All-American consideration time.

Diving: 13th place, Sophia Clack


500 Free:

- Layla Umstead; 3rd place, All State honors.

- Mackenzie Storey: 12th place.


100 Backstroke:

Grace Albrecht; 2nd place

Emma Albrecht. 7th place.

- Both earn all state honors. Grace's time is automatic All-American.


100 Breaststroke; 1st place, Sophia Umstead

- All State.

- New varsity record

- Pool record and Division II record.

- Automatic All-American.


400 Free Relay: 1st Place: Layla Umstead, Emma Albrecht, Grace Albrecht, and Sophia Umstead

- All State

- Automatic All-American

- New varsity record.
