The Jenison hockey team moved their win streak to two games after a 4-2 win over Reeths-Puffer on Friday night at Mercy Health Arena. The Wildcats improve to 5-3 overall.
The Rockets took the early 1-0 lead, but Jenison answered on a goal scored by Hayden Blik (Robert Johnson V assist) with just under a minute remaining in the first period. Gavin Phillips scored late in the second period off a pass from RJ Rathsack to take a 2-1 lead before Reeths-Puffer took advantage of a 5 on 3 early in the third period to tie the game at 2-2.
The game-winner for the Wildcats was off a deflection by Nathaniel Kloppe and a clean draw for Avery Olenzuk, who was credited with the goal. Sam Bydalek buried an empty netter to score the final goal of the evening.
Jenison will travel to Northview on Wednesday (Dec. 22) for one final game before the new year.
