Jenison Hockey falls to Bay City Western in Traverse City

The Jenison hockey team dropped the opener of the Traverse City High School Showcase on Friday morning against Bay City Western by a score of 7-4. The loss drops the Wildcats to 6-7 on the season.


Jenison took the early advantage on a goal from Hayden Blik (Cole Williams assist), but Bay City Western would answer back and the score would be tied at 1-1 after the first buzzer sounded. In the second period, the two teams would trade goals before the Warriors netted another goal to take a 3-2 lead into the final frame.


Bay City scored four more goals in the third period to secure the win.


Blik finished the morning with a hat trick, while Robert Johnson IIV also found the back of the net.


Jenison will play Woodbridge tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM in Traverse City.
