Jenison Hockey Stays Unbeaten; Defeats West Ottawa on Saturday

The Jenison hockey team defeated West Ottawa, 9-5, on Saturday afternoon at Griff's Icehouse. The Wildcats improve to 3-0 on the season.


The Panthers took the early lead, but Jenison answered before the first period ended on a goal from Avery Olenzuk. Brayden Eddy found the back of the net in the second period to give Jenison their first lead of the game at 2-1. In the third period, the Wildcats scored three straight goals to seize control of the contest.


Eddy scored two goals to lead Jenison, while Hayden Blik and Gavin Phillips scored a goal each. Robert Johnson IV and Nathaniel Kloppe each tallied an assist.


Jenison will travel to Big Rapids HS on Wednesday for a 7:00 PM matchup with the Cardinals.
