The No. 5 ranked Jenison softball team finished with a 2-1 record at the Blue Chip Tournament on Saturday against three state ranked teams.
Game 1 vs. Oakridge (Ranked 8th in D2) - W, 6-0
Alli Wright and Claire Merrit combined for a one-hit shutout in the circle. Elsie Norton launched a home run and Christine Duch added two hits.
Game 2 vs. Escanaba (Ranked 5th in D2) - W, 4-0
Wright tossed a complete game shutout while fanning 14 batters to earn the victory. Norton belted another home run and Duch added two more hits.
Game 3 vs. Midland (Ranked 17th in D1) - L, 10-4
Liv Bisonet paced the offense with three hits including a home run, while Norton added her third home run of the day. Terin Maynard also chipped in a pair of hits.
Jenison will host West Ottawa on Monday for Senior Night.
