Jenison Softball sweeps East Kentwood on Tuesday

The Jenison softball team swept East Kentwood on Tuesday by scores of 7-3 and 3-1. The Wildcats improve to 20-2 overall and are in sole possession of first place in the OK Red.


In game one, Jenison scored one run in the first inning, two in the second inning, and four in the third inning to open up a 7-0 lead.


Alli Wright earned the win, tossing seven innings while scattering five hits, two earned runs, three walks, and struck out 12 batters.


Marah Griffore and Christine Duch each had two hits to lead the offense.


Wright pitched a complete game in the nightcap, allowing just five hits and one earned run while striking out two.


Duch had a team-high three hits.


Jenison will host Hudsonville on Thursday in the "Strike Out Cancer" game. A key conference matchup and a great cause at Jerry Hoag Field on Thursday at 4:30 PM.
