The Jenison softball team defeated West Ottawa, 15-0, in the season opener on Thursday afternoon.
Alli Wright and Brynn Timmer combined for the shutout in the circle, only allowing two hits and one walk while striking out eight.
Terin Maynard led the offense with four hits, while Mia Vanderheide notched three hits.
Rudy Maynard and Timmer each recorded three RBI.
Jenison will host Lowell tomorrow in a doubleheader.
