May 4 Athletics Recap

GIRLS TENNIS


The Jenison girls tennis team defeated Grand Haven, 8-1, on Thursday afternoon in an OK Red match.


Match Winners:

1st Singles: Anna Vanderhyde

2nd Singles: Marta Gomez

3rd Singles: Addie Cumings

4th Singles: Samantha Eriks

1st Doubles: Ella Haik and Clair Harmsen

2nd Doubles: Natalia Beckstrom and Madeline Owen

3rd Doubles: Lexy Bechtel and Nancy Aboosh

5th Doubles: Aspen Cozzello and Natalie Wass


BASEBALL


The No. 15 ranked Jenison baseball team defeated No. 5 ranked Rockford by a score of 6-2 on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats improve to 11-5 overall and Rockford drops to 15-3.


Case Bosch earned the win, throwing a complete game while allowing four hits, two runs and striking out seven.


AJ Park, Hayden Winger, and Joey Heyboer each had multi-hit games.


The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow at Davenport University.


SOFTBALL


The Jenison softball team mercied Caledonia, 15-3, on Thursday in an OK Red contest. The Wildcats improve to 14-4 overall on the season.


Alli Wright earned the win, throwing four no-hit innings in relief while striking out eight.


Kenadee Schnick and Emily DeWeerd each had three hits to pace the offense. Mia VanderHeide, Morgan Macek, Liv Bisonet, Ellen Smit, and Terin Maynard each had two hits.


GIRLS WATER POLO


The Jenison girls water polo team defeated Grandville by a score of 13-7 on Thursday night.

The Jenison boys lacrosse team defeated Coopersville, 19-0, on Thursday night at home.
