Tuesday Dec. 13 Athletics Recap

BOYS BASKETBALL


The Jenison boys basketball team earned a 41-32 win at Cedar Springs on Tuesday night in non-league action. The Wildcats improve to 1-2 on the season.


After a low scoring first quarter, Jenison outscored the RedHawks 19-8 in the second frame to take a 25-13 lead into the halftime break. The Wildcats increased their lead in the third quarter and held on in the fourth quarter for the victory.


Jenison featured a balanced scoring attack with no players in double-figures and eight players recording a basket. Corbin Bennetts had a team-high nine points, while Rowan Stewart added seven points.


The Wildcats will host Wyoming on Friday night.


GIRLS BASKETBALL


The Jenison girls basketball team dominated in a 56-29 victory over Cedar Springs on Tuesday night. The Wildcats move their record to 2-2 on the year.


Jenison jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised the rest of the game to the win.


Terin Maynard scored a game-high 21 points, while Ella Haik added 15 points.


Jenison will travel to Wyoming on Friday night.


BOYS SWIM & DIVE


The Jenison boys swim and dive team defeated Forest Hills Central, 105-72, on Tuesday night at home The Wildcats improve their dual meet record to 1-1 this season.

200 Free: 1st place- Caleb Storey

200 IM: 2nd place- Ben Jansen

50 Free: 1st place- Noah Eggleston (state cut)

100 Fly: 1st place- Will Hall

100 Free: 1st place- Noah Eggleston (state cut)

500 Free: 1st place- Caleb Storey

200 Free Relay: 1st place: Will Hall, Kevin Roon, Noah Eggleston, Caleb Storey

100 Back: 2nd place: Daniel Hernandez

100 Breast: 2nd place: Braden Riha

400 Free: 2nd place: Gavin Haight, Ben Jansen, Brady Sweedyk, Daniel Hernandez
