Tuesday Dec. 20 Athletics Recap

BOYS BASKETBALL


The Jenison boys basketball team moved their win streak to three games after a 55-47 win over Lowell on Tuesday night. The Wildcats improve to 3-2 overall on the season.


The first half featured a back and forth affair with Lowell taking a narrow 26-25 lead into the halftime break. Jenison would come out strong in the second half, building an eight-point lead in the third frame before holding on for the victory.


Corbin Bennetts scored a team-high 19 points, while Chris VanSlambrouck added 15 points.


Jenison will travel to Hamilton on Thursday night.


GIRLS BASKETBALL


The Jenison girls basketball team fell to Lowell, 79-49, on Tuesday night in non-league action. The Wildcats fall to 3-3 overall.


After a closely contested first quarter, Lowell built a 16-point lead, 43-27, at the half. The Red Arrows continued to increase the lead in the second half.


Terin Maynard scored a team-high 18 points, while Selena Titus also finished in double-figures with 12 points.


Jenison will host Hamilton on Thursday night.


BOYS SWIM AND DIVE


The Jenison boys swim and dive team fell to No. 4 ranked Zeeland West, 98-86, on Tuesday night at home.
