GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Jenison girls basketball team snapped a losing skid after a 57-46 win over Grandville on Tuesday night. The Wildcats improve to 4-9 overall on the season.
Jenison led 17-5 after the first quarter and 33-17 at the half. Grandville would cut the lead down to four points, but the Wildcats pushed the lead back to double-digits late in the contest.
Terin Maynard scored a team-high 18 points, while Karis Chatfield (14 points) and Selena Titus (12 points) also scored in double-figures.
The Wildcats will travel to Caledonia on Friday night.
BOYS BASKETBALL
The Jenison boys basketball team fell, 60-53, on Tuesday night at OK-Red leading Grandville. The Wildcats fall to 4-9 overall.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-9 lead after the first quarter but Jenison battled back and took a 30-29 lead into the half. The game remained close in the second half with Jenison trailing 44-41 entering the fourth quarter.
Chris VanSlambrouck led the Wildcats with 16 points, while Rowan Stewart added 10 points.
Jenison will travel to Caledonia on Friday night.
